New Bus Route Between Dubai and Sharjah Launches on May 2
From 2nd May, a new intercity bus service will be operating between Dubai and Sharjah. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed this news on Monday. Hence, the new route E308 will connect Dubai’s Stadium Bus Station and Sharjah’s Al Jubail Bus Station. Besides, RTA mentioned that the fare for one-way travel will be Dh12 for one passenger.
Bus Routes are Re-Routing Between Sharjah and Dubai!
Furthermore, RTA also added that a few bus routes will also change from 2nd May. Re-routing the bus service will be beneficial for the passengers. Besides, they added that the commuting experience will also improve. So, here is the list of the improved routes of RTA buses.
- Route 17- this route now ends at the Baniyas Square Metro Station and not at the Al Sabkha Bus Station.
- Route 24- it now has a new route through the Al Nahda 1 area.
- Route 44- the route now travels to the Dubai Festival City. Route 44 no longer uses Al Rebat Street.
- Route 56- this route now has been extended up to the DWC Staff Village
- Routes 66 & 67- stops at the Al Ruwayah Farm area.
- Route 32C- this route doesn’t travel up to Al Satwa Bus Station. Instead, take the route F27 to travel to Al Satwa.
- Route C26- starts from Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2 and not Al Jafiliya Bus Station.
- Route E16- now ends at the Union Bus Station and not at Al Sabkha Bus Station.
- Route F12- doesn’t cover Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park. Instead, takes Kuwait Street.
- Route F27- shifted from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.
- Route F47- now has another route inside the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
- Route F54- extended and included the new Jafza South Labour Camp.
- Route X92- halts at Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 1 and not at Al Jafiliya Bus Station.
Adel Shakeri, the director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, mentioned that RTA believes in expanding the public bus network. It improves the connection with other transportation, like metro, tram, and marine transport. He added that improving intermodal connectivity is imperative to make public transport the primary choice for people to commute across the Emirates.
