The Dubai Fountain finally shuts down. Yes, it temporarily paused all operations from April 19. This is a major step for seasonal maintenance. Hence, the residents gathered near the attraction on 19th April to enjoy the last show.

This famous outdoor attraction in Dubai is loved by all. The fountain hosts breathtaking, choreographed water shows with music and lights. Residents of Dubai often come here to relax and unwind in the evening. So, whether it’s going for a coffee break or a catch-up with friends, this was a preferred choice for the locals. Besides, many tourists often visit the Dubai Fountain in the evening to stroll around and enjoy the show. Such was its craze!

Dubai Fountain hosted its last show at 11 pm on April 19. For the next five months, it will go through the much-needed renovations. It will reopen in October once the tourist season is back on track.

One of the residents of Dubai mentioned that the dancing fountain show was her family’s ritual. Every month, she used to come here along with her kids. They used to enjoy the show a lot. But it feels like something is missing now. However, the news of renovations gave her new hope.

Abels Alkins, a Latvian expat in Dubai, stops by the Dubai Fountain daily when returning from work. He added that the views are so calming and relaxing that he enjoyed the show with a coffee in his hand. Alkins didn’t know about the shutdown but thinks that the renovations will add something new to it. He added that a pause in the show would dry the crowd. After all, it is a major crowd puller.

Work is in progress to improve the choreography, lights, and sound systems. Besides, the Abra rides are also paused for now.

Marisol said that she read about the renovation in the news. She is a Filipina nurse, staying in Dubai for work. She read that the Dubai Fountain is adding new light effects and music.

Imran Akram, a store manager in Dubai Mall, is one of the regular visitors to the Dubai Fountain. He said that he visits here almost every day to relax. He will miss the show for some time, but is glad that something new is coming up. After all, Dubai is always famous for adding new and unique things.
